Question & Answers
Q. Surely to offer custom voicing must mean the Concerto III is very expensive?
A. No. This new organ has a highly competitive price and costs less than many two manual organs that have no options to choose your stops or download changes.
Q. Why is the Concerto III so different to other production-built organs?
A. Not only can you select our set stop specifications but you also have the option to choose your own compatible stop-list from our large library of pipe samples taken from organs in different countries. Each stop can be regulated from the console.
Q. What stops are available?
A. English, French, German and Italian
Q. Is the new Concerto III a home practice organ or church organ?
A. This latest technology organ with console speakers is ideal for the home. For a church or school requiring a lower cost three manual organ the Concerto III can be supplied with optional extra external speaker cabinets. This special high quality Compton Organs® amplified external speaker system, at an equally competitive price as the organ, provides an extremely inviting opportunity for a smaller to medium sized church or school to afford this high specification organ.
Q. Can you provide a genuine exclusive stop-list from an English organ with English Diapasons, English Flutes and English Reeds? Has the organ got a full- scale 32 note radiating concave pedalboard?
A. Yes. We appreciate some organists insist on a traditional English pipe organ stop-list and we can provide a choice of English stops sampled from a William Hill pipe organ. Pedalboard is full-scale 32 note radiating concave.
Q. Can I have an English specification and include French Romantic stops and a Positif manual?
A. Yes. You can choose for example English Diapason chorus and French Reeds, Flutes and Celestes and Continental stops for manual I.
Q. I require a stop list suitable for playing Bach and Baroque music, can the Concerto III be the solution?
A. Yes. We have a set Baroque stop list or you can choose your own compatible stops from our Continental samples.
Q. How can changes be made to my stops that are supplied on my Concerto III?
A. It is possible to download different stop voices from floppy disks that are inserted in the console disk drive. Individual stops can be changed, an entire department or the complete organ. If permanent changes are made at a future date we can supply new stop labels.
Q. Once I have agreed a stop specification I have no intention of making any changes – is the Concerto III still suitable for me?
A. Yes. If you require an extremely keenly priced three manual organ using latest technology with a set specification, we believe you will be very impressed indeed with this new home/church organ. We believe that many customers will retain their original stops, whilst some will find the change of stops facility a great advantage.
Q. Can I record my playing and play back through the organ?
A. Yes. All Concerto III models have a console sequencer. The organ can therefore be used to record and playback your musical performances and automatically play pre-recorded music in the absence of a church organist.
Q. In our church sometimes inexperienced volunteers play the organ, are there any easy-play aids?
A. Yes. The pedal stops can be switched to be playable from the Great manual. An abundance of pre-sets (pistons) enable quick changes of registration of stops.
